Siraj butcher
‘Hey fella, don’t move, raise your throat, you too won’t suffer, I won’t have to too’.
In 1971, several inhuman vampires came down from hell in Bagerhat district. One of them was Akijuddin, he was the ‘killing machine’ of the infamous Razakar Rajjab Ali.

In 1971, Rajjab Ali Fakir, the infamous Razakar of Bagerhat, used to slaughter innocent freedom-loving Bengalis with a sharp weapon without firing a shot. He also hired two vampires, Akij Uddin and Majid Kasai. In particular, Akij Uddin’s atrocities reached such an extreme level that word of his barbarism spread to the whole of Bagerhat and the whole country after independence.

Fiction writer Abubakar Siddique has said about Akij Uddin’s behavior during the murder,
” Akijuddin was eighty years old. Long white hairs, white circumcision punjabi, white lungi, white hat. Thin blackish skin tone. There is reason to talk so much about him. If this tall old man was to squat, his waist would hurt. So he would request the victims to lie down on their own and cut their throats.Allied razakars used to help him in this work. Then he would laugh with ramda and used to say, “’Hey fella, don’t move, raise your throat, you too won’t suffer, I won’t have to too’. And he would continue ramda through rows and rows of leaves. Akij Uddin’s name became Ramda Specialist. ”

Rajjab Ali Fakir, Sheikh Sirajul Haque alias Siraj Master and Akij Uddin, leaders of the Bagerhat Peace Committee, were among the most brutal executioners during the war of liberation in 1971. The post bungalow of the district council of Bagerhat was one of the strongholds of the Razakars.

The infamous butcher Siraj would not take breakfast every morning without slaughtering people with his own hands. During the war of liberation, Siraj Master became infamous as Siraj Master Butcher Siraj overnight for capturing and slaughtering hundreds of freedom fighters with sharp weapons at Dakbangla Ghat in Bagerhat.

On May 21, 1971, during the massacre at Kalibari in Dakra of Rampal police station, Akij Uddin and Majid were looking around at the lifeless bodies of the butcher.

After independence, the fighters of freedom fighter Rafiqul Islam Khokon’s ‘Rafiq Bahini’ captured this infamous butcher Siraj Master. Razakar Akij Uddin was also arrested at the same time. In exchange for tickets in the city of Bagerhat, the general public was trapped in the iron cage of these two infamous razakars and given tickets for the exhibition. Then the butcher saw Siraj Master and spat on him and expressed his hatred. This Razakar was imprisoned for a long time after the independence of the country. After seventy-five they were honorably released.

Today, innumerable slaughterhouses of the country including Dakra have been wiped out. At least half a hundred slaughterhouses have disappeared in the capital itself.

★Butcher Siraj was sentenced to death by hanging or firing squad in 2015. He has appealed and that appeal has not been addressed in five years! Akijuddin has already died due to old age, the time of death is not known.
